How to Split a PDF
1. Add one PDF. 2. Enter page numbers such as 1, 3-5, 8 or leave the field empty to split every page. 3. Process the file. 4. Download the ZIP containing the resulting PDFs.
Ways to Split a PDF
Extract Selected Pages
Use a page list such as 1, 3-5, 8 to create one PDF for each selected page.
Split Every Page
Leave the page field blank when you need every page as a separate PDF.
Page Range Examples
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
| Nothing (blank) | One PDF for every page |
| 3 | One PDF containing page 3 |
| 1-3 | Three PDFs: pages 1, 2 and 3 each as its own file |
| 1, 3-5, 8 | Five PDFs: pages 1, 3, 4, 5 and 8 |
| 8-3 | Same as 3-8; the order is corrected |
All files are delivered together in one ZIP archive, named page-1.pdf, page-2.pdf and so on.
Split vs Extract vs Delete Pages
This tool extracts the pages you choose and saves each one as its own PDF. It does not delete pages from the original file. To keep pages 1 to 3 together as one document, split them and then combine them with Merge PDF. To remove pages, extract the ones you want to keep and merge those.
If the Split Files Are Still Too Large
A single page that contains a large scan or photo can still be big. Run the result through Compress PDF to reduce it, or convert the page to an image with PDF to JPG.
Supported Files and Output
Accepts one PDF up to 50 MB. The result is a ZIP archive of single-page PDFs, named page-1.pdf, page-2.pdf and so on. It holds the pages you enter, or every page if the box is empty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I get one file or several?
Several. Every selected page becomes a separate PDF, and they are packaged in a ZIP file.
What happens if I leave the page box empty?
Every page of the PDF is saved as its own file.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
It may fail. Remove the password in the app that created the file first.
